What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a powerful state of focused awareness that can be used to uncover and dissolve the root causes of many issues plaguing people every day. Hypnosis allows one to access all the healing resources inherent within their subconscious, promoting natural healing from within.

Hypnosis can be used to help people discover the subconscious reasons for their unwanted symptoms, behaviors, or habits. Once discovered, certain tools and techniques can be used to help release these unwanted symptoms, behaviors, or habits. This allows one to relearn (essentially reprogram) a healthier way of thinking and reacting, subconsciously.

Hypnosis has been sanctioned and used successfully by the medical community since 1958 to help patients overcome chronic pain, create anesthesia, and even heal psychogenic illnesses.

Hypnosis is simply a state of mind though, not a feeling.

How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis works by achieving a level of deeply focused awareness while at the same time bypassing the analytical aspect of the mind. Another way to describe the analytical aspect of the mind is to call it a comparing mechanism or filter. When new information is introduced to the mind, the comparing mechanism compares and filters the new information to what is already known/believed to be true or false. This is a protective aspect of the mind to conserve energy.

This is why changing habits by willpower alone is so difficult and exhausting - no matter how badly one may want to make a change, if any aspect of the mind doubts or denies the ability, just thinking about making the change (using willpower alone) will be ineffective. Hypnosis is so powerfully effective because with deeply focused awareness the analytical aspect of the mind is bypassed. This allows new, healthy, and beneficial suggestions to be made directly into the subconscious - without the comparing mechanism filtering out and rejecting the new thoughts/beliefs needed to make the desired change. This ability empowers the changes being attempted to be much more easily accepted by the subconscious as true, creating desired results faster and easier than ever before.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes! Hypnosis is a perfectly normal and common state of mind that we go into naturally every day. Hypnosis is entered regularly when daydreaming, watching a good movie, listening to our favorite music, reading a compelling book, driving along the same old highway, or even working on an in-depth project with our hands. During these activities we remain consciously aware and in complete control, we just may lose track of time, place, and even sensations. How many times have you been too involved (in a movie, show, book, or music) to hear someone talking to you, how many times have you ‘lost your place’ on the same old highway you always drive, or have you ever found a substantial bruise or scrape on yourself that you had no recollection of obtaining? That is such a deep state of hypnosis (focused awareness) that you were unaware of pain! A professional Hypnotist simply assists people in entering these states of deeply focused awareness on purpose, with purpose.

What is a Consulting Hypnotist?

A Consulting Hypnotist is a specially trained and certified hypnotist that utilizes the application of hypnosis to help a client discover the subconscious reasons for their unwanted symptoms, behaviors, or habits - as well as to move them towards the self they’ve always imagined themselves to be. Once the root cause is discovered for any unwanted symptoms, behaviors, or habits certain tools and techniques can then be used to help release the client from the emotional chains enslaving them to what they haven’t been able to accomplish on their own. A Consulting Hypnotist is simply an emotional tour guide for this cathartic transformation that allows a much more authentic sense of self to emerge from within the client.

Can I be hypnotized?

Of course! You have probably already been hypnotized while watching an enjoyable movie, reading a compelling book, possibly while knitting or working on a car. Hypnosis is a normal and natural state of mind that everyone has already experienced at some level. Actually, it is such a normal state of mind that most people don’t even realize when they are in a light state of hypnosis.

The only requirements to be hypnotized are:

1) a desire to be hypnotized

2) the willingness to follow gentle instructions for reaching a state of focused awareness.

What makes hypnosis so effective?

Modern hypnosis is so effective because it is solution oriented and utilizes a systemic, insight based process that allows people to reveal to themselves their own inner hero. There is a little part of each of us that already knows what needs to be done or changed to create the results we have been unable to accomplish on our own. Allow me to be your emotional tour-guide to lead you to your own internal answers. Allow me to create a safe cocoon from which your most authentic self can finally emerge.

Hypnosis is different, expect different results!
